Caribbean Feeder Services (CFS), a neutral feeder operator in the Caribbean and Central America, celebrates 25 years of success in the region, establishing itself as one of the leading players in connecting secondary ports with major international shipping lines. Since its founding in 1999, CFS has been crucial in providing efficient logistical solutions, offering neutral port connections without the need to own containers and providing space on its vessels under FIOS terms.

In October 2018, Pérez y Cía. Group acquired a stake in CFS, integrating the shipping company into its network of agencies in the Caribbean and further strengthening its expansion in the region. It is worth noting that, even before this acquisition, the Group’s agencies had already represented CFS at these ports.

In 2022, the company ranked 54th in Alphaliner’s global rankings, becoming the largest Spanish-owned shipping line in the world, a significant achievement that reinforces its global impact.

Currently, CFS operates six regional services covering 21 ports and 30 terminals in key areas such as Panama, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Trinidad and Tobago, connecting destinations like Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Haiti, Aruba, Curacao, Barbados, Venezuela, Guyana, and Suriname. These routes significantly contribute to the growth and development of the region’s logistics infrastructure.

Over the years, CFS has modernized its fleet, optimizing its cargo capacity and improving operational efficiency without increasing the number of vessels. The CFS fleet currently consists of 13 vessels with a combined capacity of over 15,000 TEU, including newly built ships equipped with environmentally responsible technology, such as scrubbers, highlighting its commitment to sustainability.

Thanks to its integration with Pérez y Cía. Group, CFS is positioned as the only operator in the region with a vertically integrated structure between maritime agency, port logistics, and shipping operations, enabling it to offer a unique service to renowned global clients such as Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk, ZIM, MSC, Cosco, Seaboard Marine, and CMA-CGM.

Gonzalo Pérez Maura, CEO of Pérez y Cía. Group, said: “Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Caribbean Feeder Services (CFS) has been a special moment to reflect on how we achieved our goal of becoming an independent operator, connecting key ports across the region with our fleet. We are proud to have been with CFS from the beginning as agents and, in recent years, as owners. We deeply appreciate all the professionals, clients, and partners who have been part of this achievement.”
