Remolques Unidos (“RUSA”)

Remolques Unidos (“RUSA”) is a company that, since its foundation in 1962, has been dedicated to harbour towage services in the Port of Santander, as well as offshore towage and salvage operations. Over these years, RUSA has operated more than thirty tugs, both owned and as shipowner, and currently has a large and modern fleet of port and offshore tugs featuring high performance, power, bollard pull, manoeuvrability, fire-fighting systems, Rec-Oil systems, etc.

As a corporate group, RUSA holds the concession for port towage services in Santander and Málaga.

Since 1999 the company has implemented a quality assurance system, adapted in 2003 to the new ISO 9001:2008 standard. In 2006, the environmental management standard ISO 14001 was integrated, covering all group companies and all activities carried out in the ports of Santander, Málaga and others.

At the beginning of 2024, Remolques Unidos (“RUSA”) strengthened its presence in the Port of Santander with the acquisition of Remolques y Servicios Santander (“REYSER Santander”), including in this operation the purchase of the tugs “Clara G” and “El Península”. After 62 years providing towage services in the Port of Santander, RUSA consolidates its position in the port with this acquisition.
